Lift limits?

Got a Ford 860 and a 300 gallon 'water buffalo"

If I fill the tank, it will weigh around 2400 pounds.

My question...How much weight can a 3-point hitch on a Ford 860 lift?

I'm thinking about just putting the tank on a trailer and pulling it to the site.

My IH 706 is a lot bigger than your tractor and I have a loader. I use a tote that is 330 gallons setting on my bale spear, I would never try that in road gear.

I have a 960, sorta same tractor kinda.

I can pick up a 5x6 round bale, but just so, and makes the front end barely tough the ground. I. Don't really know what my round bales weigh, but less than 2000# for sure.

I have a 110 gallon 3pt sprayer, and the tractor handles that real well. But, I don't think I'd want to put a 200 gallon sprayer back there. Maybe 150 would work but I think steering would get light and that would be a lot of stress on the 3pt parts.

I sure couldn't do a 300 gallon one. Granted I have a 20 foot boom on it too, but its pretty light boom....

The front end of the tractor will lift off the ground if the load on the lift arms exceeds the weight of the tractor ahead of the engine. At least that is what used to happen to my Massey 35. I have a 275 gallon tote that I use for pig water in summer, it sits on a wagon and works fine that way.

If your lift is in perfect condition, it might be able to lift two tons, but you would need a lot of extra weight on the front end. I don't think the tired lift on my 4000 (basically a 961) can lift even 1200 lbs. I'd trailer that tank.

You're definitely not carrying that with an 860. They've got a fairly able lift ability. The problem is that the front end doesn't stay down with more than 1000# on the back unless you load the front down heavy with something like a loader...

No way. A 200 gallon sprayer makes our Massey 285 very light in front, even with 5 weights on it. We'd put more on if we had anymore to use.
