Harbor freight has the best bang for the buck 12000 lbs for 300 is a good deal.

Be sure to get a snatch block to double up cable and build a 1 ft. Stand for the winch to set on those will help in cable dragging on back of trailer.

Also suggest using 2" hitch reciever and square mechanical tubing to make winch readily demountable and transferrable to other vehicles.

I use a 12,000 lb from Harbor-freight, so far it does the job. I have it mounted, so I can take it off, out of the weather.
