Saw this nice Ford - 36? judging from the plate - and thought some of you folks would enjoy it too. Lots of mods, but still kinda retaining the original profile. Didn't talk to the owner, so I don't know about the drive train.

Nice.

Not sure they know much about radio wave propagation, but they do know how to build a nice truck.

Rode to school in first grade in one like that, in beat up condition. Neighbor took me and his daughter to class. Bus transportation the next year.

Guess I will be to old fuddy. But I hate it when people do that to old cars and trucks. There was a guy here in Texas. Had an old Packard one of a kind custom body on it. Only one in the world like it. He cut it up and made a hot rod out of it.

Yes, it's a shame when a rare vehicle is butchered, but I figure the owner can do with it as he pleases.
I enjoy original and restored vintage vehicles, hot rods, customs, street rods(to an extent) but draw the line at rat rods.

The Ford emblem on the side of the hood makes it a '35.
Being as it's not chopped or channeled, It keeps it's basic original look.
I think it looks just right!!

I kinda agree with Brian G. NY. As long as they retain the basic shape so you can still identify the make and year, I don't complain too much. I detest seeing someone take a perfectly good original and butcher it. They may have the right to do what they want because it is theirs, but I feel that if you own something that is rare and collectible, you have an obligation to preserve it, there other options if you want a wildly modified hot rod.

I like hot rods. I like the old coupes with chopped roofs as long as they aren't chopped too much. Even though I like many of the mods you see on traditional hot rods, I don't like to see a "survivor" cut up. I think that's better left to cars in lesser condition. I wouldn't go so far as to say someone has an obligation to preserve it.
