Prayers needed

Well......I had inquinal hernia surgery today, I cannot keep any food down, the drugs they gave me in the hospital were too strong I think. I got home at noon today, and I tried to have some soup broth and a few bites of the chicken that were in it. Up it came. That was at 5pm.
I hope this wears off quick. I need to eat and take meds. I am not feeling much pain, unless it is cause the anestitic has not worn off, which is what is keeping me sick.

My optometrist had hernia surgery a couple weeks ago. He said he felt sick on and off in that time. It should get better soon. The doctor might be able to give you something to help as well.

Sorry about the problems. Drop the narcotics if you can possible manage the pain without them. Ibuprofen works for me, and the narcotics is most likely the cause of your nausea. You can try Dramamine, or maybe some Mary Jane. Dramamine usually works for me - I have no experience with the other.

I chose not to have those kind of problems by having only local anestetics. Was awake and watched the whole operation. Ibuprofen for pain six weeks of being careful. Hope your feeling better. Prayers for you. gobble

I had a umbilical hernia repaired a little over a year ago. Had to stay over night for observation because of a couple of other problems that I have. I can't remember what kind of medication they gave me, but I had no problems. Only problem I had was trying to eat the "food" they brought me for breakfast the next morning. Hope you are feeling better by now and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Feeling better enough to hold food down, I think the next hard part is going to be going to the bathroom.......I was told by a co-worker that had the same as me that he had to take a stool softener, I will try with out that.

Hello wile E,

Stool softener is a good idea. They say it may be 3 to 5 days before a bowl movement!. I would think 3 at the most. All part of the drugs you took. Hydrate yourself as well,

Guido.
