well i finally get to order the radiator and shroud for bertha this week and im starting to look at doing some body work on the cowl, hood and dash. i can paint, but i've never tried body work before so wish me luck. i've been watching utube videos on body repair and im starting to get my confidence up. i need to buy a couple of hammers and i got DH making me a couple of dolly's. i bought the little set that harbor fright sells for $ 30. and it looks like i can use the dolly's but the hammers are so small that i might be able to take a dent out of a beer can maybe with them, but that's about it. here's some before pics.

I was taught by a bodyman when removing dents/dings to work hammer and dolly from outside edge of dent/ding to inside. Lessens the likelyhood/amount of stretched metal. The outside of dent was last to get there so first to remove. I have taken 2 ballpeen hammers and flatened the face of 1 and used them in place of body hammers and dollies. May not be right way but has worked for me most of the time.
Something else I have done in past was to put a dent in scrap metal and practice removing it prior to working on good parts.
Good Luck and post work pics are being looked forward to.

don't forget that while you're hammering on them dents the metal is stretching,..just use a minimum of hammer and fill it with bondo

On the major dents I would suggest using a jack to push them out before beating on them with a hammer. Might need to get creative to have something the jack can push against, but hammering creates a lot of small dents. Maybe the jack under a drawbar, pushing down on the metal? Wood blocks to spread the push? Shop press would work too.
