Been looking for a used shop press. Giving up.
Ebay has 3 brands that look decent. OTC , Bailiegh , American Forge & Foundry.Does anyone know anything about these 3 brands?? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

I don"t know about those brands, other than OTC makes excellent tools, but I built my own press. Used 6 inch channel for the sides, 10 inch I beam on top, plated the web with 3 slabs of half-inch thick flat stock, so it"s 1 3/4 inch thick. 30 ton jack doesn"t faze it one bit. Posted pics here years ago of some special features I built into it, but now I can"t access what I have in Photobucket.

Couple places to look for new ones, Zoro Tools and Global Industrial. Good prices, seem to be a step up from Harbor Freight.

Not sure what size you need, bigger is always better. One thing about a press is you can get a good idea of it's worth by looking at it. Look at a name brand, take some measurements and compare it with the lesser ones, see if the quality is there.

I don't know if Bailiegh makes their own presses or rebadges someone else's, but Bailiegh products are generally quality pieces.
