which two cylinder tractor is your least liked?? I hate the mt because there so light in the front and you cant get on and off them very easy and are not very well balanced,They turn over fairly easy.

I"d hafta agree with ya Rick about the MT +
the struggle to get on & off... I also had a
H one time super lite on the frt. Also had 2
Model 50"s I just hated but Love the 520/530.
Difference night & day between 50 & 520/530

Other than the 520/530 having more rpm, a three point top link and the spark plugs being placed in the cylinder head. What difference pray tell could you notice between and 50 and a 520/530 ?
A 50 vs. a B is a much different and improved tractor.

I have a love hate relationship with the 2cyl. diesels. Love to hear them run and they can pull things around newer models can't without added tons of extra weight. Hate the fact they will run with so much wrong to the point of self destruction. Parts are VERY heavy to muscle around and sooooo much needs to be removed to get to something else.

50 can't be compaired to the 520-530 because the 520 and 530 have all the bells and whistles the big two cylinders have just smaller, hitches are set up for quick hitch, hydraulics are better the 50 can't come close.and believe me I have them both, but I like 50 over most b's.

If somebody painted a 50 with 520 colours and a 520 with 50 colours and decals. Then optioned them the same with PS and live pto. There isn't one operator in a hundred that would notice unless they tried to use the 3 pt upper link.

Never ran a MT, but my Dad had a M with a belly mower. That was the most miserable thing to mount or dismount that I was ever around. Love my As, Bs, H, G 520, 620, and 720D though.

The 50 P/S took too much power to run.
Granted most of everything different ones have
stated is true. I don"t mind the PTO operation
of 50"s 60"s & 70"s But the 2 We owned didn"t
compare power wise to the Cyclone B I kept &
got rid of the 50"s. When I picked up a 520
then the B left the farm. 520/530 is smoother
power & when ya add the bells & whistles again
I say you can"t compare the 2. John Deere did
a Wonderful job in improving that series.

I didn't intend to create any kind of
disagreement, I just know the 2 we owned I
disliked. I am sure there were some that
were a great tractor to some people & that's
ok. I did believe the first tractor was a lemon,
So I bought another & ended up with the
same charatoristics I disliked on the first one.
When the 520 came home, sure paid more, but it
would do more. Now the 520 Is still & the family
just not on the farm & replaced with a 530
& again I like the 530 even more, But I am still
fond to the styling of the 50, 60, 70 & 520, 620
720 series. I have a 620 that will out work our
630 , 2 730 diesels that I will use the Pony
start tractor over the electric start..

The MT is harder to get on & off than a M..

And if your double jointed & have tough fingers
you can set the brakes on either & release them.

Much easier to shut them off & restart than set
& release the brakes... BTW I have a M..

The most miserable JD is the H. Hard time reaching the brake locks, your arms need to be a foot longer. Working inside the crank case everything is so small in there no room to work. The engineers who designed the H must have had night mares often.

Hated every 2 cylinder that we had on the place: GP, 3 D's and 1 G; the G was the worst trouble of them all!

Neighbors had 70's, 720D & R's. None of them lasted very long. By the time JD came out with the 4010's and 5010's, not many users in our area trusted JD anymore so they didn't sell many in our immediate area.

IH, MM & AC outsold them for several years.
