Case 730 question

Can anyone tell me why my hydraulics on my case 730 have more power when it's moving in gear? I back up a get a round bale on my 3-point and it will barely lift it. But when I put it in gear and start moving bale goes right up to the top. Same with down pressure on the loader. It will not even think of lifting the front of the tractor, but if I'm pushing snow or old hay it lifts it right up. Thanks

The issue probably isn't hydraulic related. It is all about physics and geometry. You are maxing out the capabilities of the hyds, When you try lifting a bale, and you start moving forward, the tires try to rotate up the front of the tractor, and the hydraulics take advantage of this and a change in the mechanical advantage of the 3pt improves as the arms get higher.
As for the loader The same principles exist. Your bucket is below the center of gravity. and your boom hinge points are well above. When you move forward the mechanical forces change The loader arms are pushing up on the front of the tractor, and the rear wheels are trying to push under the loader arms. If you back up with the bucket down trying to raise the front wheels, they won't lift, because the physical forces are working in the opposit direction, against your hyds., rather than with.

That makes sense I guess. I've just had problems with the hydraulics for a while now. It used to lift my bales no prob with the 3-point or the loader, now this. I've posted other questions on here but I'm getting no where. We've drained and replaced fluid, changed filter, even taken apart valves and cleaned everything. It never gets better or worse I would think if the pump was bad it would after time just quit all together.
