I got the rear of the frame and bottom of floor panels painted today. I hope to get fenders and inside of rear wheels painted tomorrow.

There was a puller in Ohio, Merle Grimm my neighbor when I lived there who was a Massy 44 fan with a top national level tractor called Sassy Massy The following is from records and personal experience with Merle and his sons.

In the fall of 1967, the NWOTPA hired a local man, Merle Grimm, to build a weight exchanger or sled. Thus, Heartbreaker I was born; a motorized
mechanical weight exchanger designed specifically for tractor pulling. It was soon to be copied by other tractor pulling groups across the nation

This was my dad's 44, I was about 10 when he bought it. I remember driving it before I had a license, was so proud.

Factory options on the later 44's. You could get live power with disk brakes and cast centers on rear wheels.
