Starting problems

Any one have a Chevy equinox with a starting problem? as in starter staying on after you let go of key. And then acting like it is going to die when it does start. And no that is not tractor related so I'll just say it sure is nice to watch all these tractors in the fields this time of year.

I had a similar problem with my '71 Thunderbird. Took it to Ford dealer; they couldn't find any problem. I told them to change the contacts on the ignition switch; they said that it wasn't the problem. I told them to change it anyway - that ended the problem.

Your problem may be elsewhere, just keep checking things.

just a stuck solenoid, no?

if the starter stays engaged while it's running - it will certainly run pretty rough.

From what I'm seeing on the net GM Has inganerd it to stay on 2 sec after you let go of the key. Which dose not make since to me I did replace the starter but it didn't help. I'm finding all kinds of problems with these cars.

Hello Dirt,

You have a GMC product. Could the ignition switch be one in the recall? That seems the problem

Guido.

My 2 GMs 04 Malibu And 08 Silverado are bump start. You bump the key and it cranks until it starts. The Malibu (90+k) was occasionally failing to start (especially when warm) and I found that depressing the accelerator slightly solved the issue. A GM mechanic told me the problem was a dirty throttle body and cleaning it seems to have helped.
