GL-4 Transmission Oil

NAPA part # NHF 85401 is a GL-4 rated gear oil, so it would be suitable in old tractors is seems as it has less HP additive. Wonder what the weight is.

Did a quick google search and the stuff appears to be a transmission-hydraulic oil suitable for use with wet brakes and clutches .
Rated GL-4 wear protection.
It"s going to drop out of places that GL-4 sae 90 or 50wt motor oil will only seep out off.
Straight cut gears will make more noise with the thin oil.
A lot of people for reasons unknown just can"t seem to bring themselves to use 50wt motor oil in a transmission.

The marketing people for oil companies have done a good job.
