old and new?

Just as we are finishing off the last of the past years vegetable crop from our garden....the hardy leeks, The first new crop is ready to pick! Today we had the old and the new for dinner, leeks and spring cabbage. We managed to get all the last of the parsnips and turnips harvest , blanched and frozen over the past few weeks, so now we have enough to see us through until this years garden crop is ready to eat. Nothing to beat the taste of home grown and fresh veggies!.....Sam

It's really funny how our parsnips can make it thorugh the winter, but our carrots froze and ruined.

Am growing some Cherokee Purple heirloom tomato plants, from last years seed. Couldn't wait, so I set them out a month ago, had them get a bad frost. BUT I just left the brown and withered stalks, and new leafs have started, and by now they're growing like mad again. [Like to send some pictures, but don't know how.]
