I know spring has sprung for some but, here I sit wishing for blustery winter evenings; well, it isn't winter officially but there are snow scatterings here and it is really blustery; but evenings where folks talked about the Mayberry gang and what they had been up to.
I know rr has a new, old Oliver minus some parts and Larry doesn't appear to be at his corner but someone must be watchin'.

Mayberry Days is coming to Westminster,SC in a little over a week. Last year had about 10,000 visitors. Don Knotts daughter will be here this year. Great festival and lots of friendly folks. Talked to folks from CA and OH here last year. There is a huge following from all over the country.

Mount Airy, NC is the home of Andy Griffith and considered to be the Mayberry that the show depicted.

Mayberry Days festival is held in the fall. There is plenty of info on the net. If you ever get to Mt. Airy, be sure to go to Snappy Lunch and get a porkchop sandwich!

The tractor show and antique car show is at the Apple Festival in the fall I think.
It is mostly cars and is small.

I thought she told me there was one or was going to be one. They went last year and someone told my stepdad he should have dressed up like one of the characters, I think his name is Judd, I cant remember right off hand. He does look alot like him.

Mitch Jayne, the bass player on the Darlings (Dillards) was a good friend of mine. He was the best story teller in the world.
Has a good number of really neat books about the Ozarks and country life published.
