I bought a new dell last year, then went to Walmart and bought a 32" Vizio TV and a cable to hook it to the Dell. We don't watch TV programs, just a movie from the web once in a while.

Good luck . had a smart phone full of calender dates memos etc it died and lost all the info and the doc was wondering why i was missing .thankfull the pictures are ok if you take pics of calves the date on the file well tell you when they arrived so thats safe.

Stan, what model Dell? I've been thinking of a dell desk top, but have a router at home with WIFI. Been thinking of getting a $429.99 dell laptop with WIFI. The laptop has more of everything than my old dell. Could use old dell desk top for other things until it dies completely.
10 years ago, I had to upgrade computer. I still use the old computer for business records. It may be close to 20 years old. Works for doing spreadsheet. I never worry about it getting a virus, because it's not connected to the internet. Now I will have second business computer as a backup. Printer/fax still works.

There's a big difference between "upgrade" and "computer died."
Generally you want the first to happen before the second. Usually it's the storage device that fails, and that's why you lose data. When your computer dies there's no guarantee that anything can be recovered unless you have external/offsite backups.
