With any luck we'll be in the field in a few days.

First time using this tractor and I'm kinda anxious to see how it performs after all my winter repairs.

My Gawd! I know I'm old fashioned, but it sure takes a lot of juice to fill that beast up! :>(

I don't know about everyone else, but I will be waiting to hear how that new mule performs for you. I've never seen any 88 series IH around here in person, I figure everyone must have stayed with the 86 series or changed colors.

If same as an 86 series, the muffler is under the hood and the stack is what you can see above it.

I rented an 5288 21 years ago with an option to buy. Sent it back because it seemed to need 2 quarts of oil every other day, or about 15 - 20 hours. Mud today, Rain coming tonight. Now warming; just way to wet!

It's got a new exhaust system from the head out. Only thing I hear in the cab is the whistle of the turbo.

Don't know how they made 'em so quiet. Think it might have something to do with that forward air flow around the engine.
