Every time I try to bolt the transmission to the engine block the tractor will not turn over freely. If the engine is separated it will turn over and the transmission separated it will turn over freely. I have replaced the clutch disc and pilot bearing. I used a clutch alignment tool so the clutch is aligned properly with the pilot bearing. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to bolt the transmission to the engine and have them turn over freely. Something is binding.

on my tractor, different color, the only way to tell front from back is the front has a built-in oil slinger. Otherwise I would get it in backwards, I'm sure.

I agree most instances I have seen like this you
have the clutch disk in with the long hub facing the engine or backwards.
