Blue people of Kentucky

Kinda reminds me of the Oompa Loompas of the movie with Gene Wilder. Cant remember the name of it now.

Better than being green. Several years ago I went to some county office in Longmont, Co. to see about getting my ex girlfriend some help with her heating bill. There were quite a few people in the building when I found the right office and walked up to the counter. Office was staffed with about half whites and half Mexicans. I was standing there waiting for someone to help me when all of a sudden this thing, I am assuming it was a male, came around the corner and stood in front of me and asked what I wanted. I was speechless for a couple of minutes trying to figure out if it was made up for Halloween or St. Patrick's day. I have never seen an uglier shade of olive green or whatever green it was. Was some foreigner but I have never seen any that were green. Ended up it couldn't help me so I went outside and about puked.

I have seen Blue Man Group perform. They are amazing and very funny. It must take great concentration to keep a straight, unemotional face all the time like they do.

However Blue Man Group uses makeup and latex to look like they do when they are performing. We got to meet the performers without makeup and they looked completely normal--not even shaved heads.

There are a number of different sets of Blue Man Groups, not just the 3 guys we saw on our cruise last month. I really enjoyed their shows!

Reading the article, the extent of intermarriage surprised me. One guy married his mother's sister? Yikes!!!

Yes, that is pretty strange, never seen that before! 162 year old gene? I guess anything is possible.

Jay the guy in the photo is recently deceased, look up blue man, his name will come up, will explain his situation, self medication I think, the link in the post, I never heard of before, was just thinking of the man in the photo.

Crazy to think the pigment of ones skin can turn colors like were mentioned in this post.

I believe the man pictured above died of a heart ailment or similar, don't think it was related to what was going on with his skin, but I am no MD either LOL!

I read looked it up, yes he was a heavy smoker, had triple bypass, and had heart trouble, but the skin color was from silver! Intersting.

I thought it was called Fulgrum's Disease (although I just looked it up and couldn't find it...), and is caused by a recessive gene that prevents metaglobin from changing to hemoglobin. Oxygenated metaglobin is blue, where oxygenated hemoglobin is red.
Quite an interesting disease if I recall correctly.
