BTW, the troll is from a second grade 1946 edition of Friends and Neighbors reading book I "studied" way back in 1952. Never forgot that story, they knew how to keep young boys' attention!

gtractorfan,

That is really cool that you still have an old copy of this book.

I remember reading it in elementary school in the 70's! We also used the Dick & Jane reader's series... my mom bought me a revised and reproduced set before she passed away. I'm looking forward to reading them to our grandkids.

Wonder how long that truck could keep it up? One round? One hour? One day? One week? Now if it does that for a week without a "hitch" I'd say that IS one tough truck!

Got rid of the need for a lot of migrant workers. In the fall the semi loads go by here one after another and I can't help thinking how much work it would be to pick them by hand.

Somewhere in the world, there's an old black and white picture of that same lineup up JD toys with me sitting right in the middle of them in my PJs.
The only one I can find was of when I opened the tractor.

I got these toys at an estate auction last year for next to nothing. They are not in perfect shape by no means but still for what I paid for them I didn't do to bad. A couple where given to my brothers grandson but the rest are still here in my shop and I have no plans of getting rid of them as I have less than $200 in all of them. It's worth it to me to let them sit there and let my wife do what she wants with them when I'm gone. Hope they go to a good home

Tug boats.
One of the fish tugs used to be part of the
Michigan City In, fleet.
When We were little, Mom would drop Dad off at work then We would watch the fish tugs going out.

Been there done that. I took the gooseneck trailer to TSC one time and bought several new 16' gates, then we went and bought a new mattress and put it on top of the gates. Got a lot of laughs from folks asking me if we were moving.
