Way O/T Wisconsin readers or southern IL

O. K. for you guys in Wisconsin or IL, can you tell me some places that have neat factory tours? The same is true for IL say south of St Louis area. Thanks in advance. J

If you are a cattle man or dairy man you might enjoy seeing ABS breeders headquarters in DeForest, WI. I toured it wayyyyyy back when I was in FFA in the mid 1970's. I see they are still there.
ABC Headquarters

AMPI member/owners get tours of their dairy plants... I think public tours happen occasionally, too. Would need to call ahead, and they may only do groups, but the cheese plant in Jim Falls is interesting. They put new cheese vats in about 2 years ago. That's where all their pepper jack is made.

Don"t know where you plan to be, but if in Milwaukee, Harley Steel Toe Tour in Menomonee Falls gives you a ticket to see the Harley Museum with the price.

Winery Tours and Cheese Factory Tours abound in the state as well.

If in Milwaukee Area for a few days, head up the Lake to see the Kohler Co. Tour....

WI Factory Yours, a short list.

Walt Keller collection of SN #1 of JD and Case. I think it is around Forest Junction, WI. I did not go but our JD group went 2 years ago. You can not see it in a day.

Hoard s Dairy Museum in Fort Atkinson, IH archives at WI Historical Society in Madison, Fairbanks Morse plant in Beloit, not sure if they have tours for the public, Miller Brewing in Milwaukee, Ken Updike at Juda, locks and dams on the Mississippi river.

Just a miles east of illinois on I64 in In. is the Toyota plant just north of I64 on hwy41. They have a Visitor center you can see from the hi-way. They are real friendly and seem to want you to make the tour. Takes you from raw steel to a finished van running on the dyno. I loved it.

="J. W. Schwiebert"; I would suggest a donut factory tour!! In southern Wisc. I suggest Quality Bakery in Dodgeville, my sister has been in a good one in New Glarus but I can't recall name now. On the east end of West Salem - Linda's Bakery. Then, when you get hungry in southern Wisc. stop in at The Edgewater Cafe in Albany - closed on Monday's I tink; breakfast all day and homemade preserves for your toast...yummy.

In Lacrosse, the "City Brewery", formerly the
"G Heileman Brewery" the(Former) brewers of
"Old Style Lager", has a really nice brewery tour.
