Interstate Batteries vs other brands

whats everybodys opinion on the interstate vs other brand batteries for your tractors. I"m in the market for a new one & interstate are $20 more, but do they last any longer?

I have only used two of their batteries and they were in trucks and I had no complants with them. I liked them in truck because they have a good network of dealers and if traveling its not hard to find dealer.

I have bought three, well actually one but it has been replaced twice for FREE!!! I wouldn't want to install one on the space shuttle for fear of failure, but the customer service and warranty are excellent. I get mine at Ogden Farm and Feed in Ogden IA.

I meant to mention that I've had the same Walmart brand battery in my 450 for seven or eight years and I have abused the heck out of it. I bet I've drained that battery 50 times and its spent hundreds of hours on the battery charger. I finally have figured out what is wrong with the 450 thanks to the people on this excellent site and it starts and runs like it is supposed to.

Delco-- never use a battery that doesn't have a black housing. I have really never bought one for that reason. I doubt any battery is made in USA with the Superfund sites the plants become when they close down and test the soil.

The folks that have do our alternator work swear by them. Put two in my 7.3 diesel a yr ago, so can't say myself how they last yet.

I've had good luck, usually 8 plus years pretty easy, and like said they replace them for free for one year I believe, they've gave me a few free ones. Can't complain

I have them in all 3 of my pickups, and my car. I'll be putting one in one of my tractors in the next couple of weeks. I like them.

I heard one manufacturer of batteries was staying in the battery business. They figure if they sell or close plants most of their corporate assets would be seized for the clean-up, but if they're operating the plant it won't get on the list cause it won't need to be cleaned up.

They have a great warranty, but there is a reason why. When I was turning wrenches, we sold them, so we could get costumers back in the shop. I do have a few of them, but I will guarantee, they aren"t in something that is hard to replace batteries on.

I like Walmart's best batteries. Even had one in my garden tractor, battery style 75 with the terminals on the side to clear the hood, it was replaced in 2012. It was installed in 2002 and I just gave it to my nephew for his Chevy10. I also have them in my Kohler generator and both cars. The battery in his truck was an Interstate
and it died. Hal

I am going to buy one soon as well. I need a 6 volt one, though. Does Interstate make 6 volt ones? There was a post on here about a month ago discussing the same topic. One guy said the Auto Zone brand were good.

Interstate doesn"t make ANY batteries.

They are simply re-badged Johnson Controls batteries, made by the same folks that make Sears Diehards and today"s AC Delco batteries.

Pretty much 3 companies make everyone"s batteries... Johnson, East Penn, and Exide.

Our local truck shop (big trucks) sells both Interstate, and Deka batteries. I haven't really heard any good or bad about the interstate, but the Deka 6D-LT I have in my 4400 Ford Backhoe is a good battery. It can go for 3 months in the dead of winter, and when I go up to it (no block heater or anything) I can give a it a little ether and the battery will wip that engine around like it is the middle of spring! Thinking about all the people I remember from church, I'd wager your first name is Charles and last name starts with a K.

Nate v. I started going regularly about 12 years ago. My name is Jim S. I'll tell your dad I talked to you. Charles K is my neighbor.
