electrical system for 1964 2010ru john deere

was just wondering if system is all 12v and had also heard that could be reverse ground? Any info would help and thanks

12 volt with positive ground.

I owned a 1965 2010 RU diesel for 28 years. It was 12 volt negative ground.

Your 2010 didn't come from the factory as negative ground? 2010's came with a generator with 12 VOLT positive ground

JD dealership sold me a 6 volt coil for my 2010 gas, they explained the 6 volt coil kept points from being burned.

The rest of the story is that a ballast resistor is used to drop the battery's 12 volts to the coil while it's running, which is bypassed for a hotter spark while cranking.
