Where is here ?

I would suspect in Ohio they would also sell god at the Kidron auction or some of the many consignment auctions.

Buy them and resell them. If you get them for scrap and somewhere within 400 miles or so they are worth $1000 then there are people who will come with trailers and haul them home and you will likely still make money.

Mike M - are you in Ohio?

We're heading out that way for an equipment auction next weekend.

... just can't remember if it's Kidron or mt Hope.

Sellers think they are hot here wanting 1000-1500$ for them. Can buy an IH510 or 5100 for the same money with less wear on it.

If everybody would've kept every piece of equipment that was build over the last century there would be no antique market for it other than the scrapyard.;).
Actually the entire country would be one big scrapyard by now

My brother had two JD 14ft press drills that hooked together so he could plant 28ft in each pass. After he retired, it didn't take long for someone to buy those drills. Press drills are heavier and more difficult to haul, but they hauled them 100 miles away.

His Case 2490 tractor sold to a guy at the other end of the state (400 miles), who bought it sight unseen and had a semi truck pick it up. The buyer was really pleased when he received the tractor and saw what condition it was in.

I work near Wooster.
I don't follow the auction circuit too close so I don't know which one is coming up ?

Just saw a CIH 5100 advertised for $7k. Thought that was a bit high. I have yet to see any as low as $1500 around here (n/w WI) - even if they are in rough shape.

The junk, stuff that is used up should go to the
scrappers, thats OK. its the good stuff that gets
scrapped simply because it is "old" ,that is the
heart breaker...

I saw a single disc 18x7 510 pretty good shape sell for 2,500 dollars this spring. Soybean special 5100's are north of 5,000 dollars this spring. A couple of FBB drills at the same auction as the 510 both brought in the high teens each.

JR, looks like while you are close to my area I will be getting ready to head to Kentuckey. Leroy

Shoot! Those are definately worth saving! Wish I was closer to throw a bid in on them.

Mightly flat land there also!

Is that an IH hay rake sitting beside them? I've got one (not sure of model # 35 or 36 possibly?) that looks like that, but would be better off as a parts rake.
