How Do You Remove Starter on John Deere 40

take a look at the parts book on line with deere. Not sure about the 40 but I know the MT has a set screw inside of a jam nut on the right side. Later models used 2 bolts. You may have to take the tool box and battery box off to get it off.

Removing the starter is the same for both the MT and the Model 40.

Start by removing the battery and battery box.
