Massey 35 Loader frustration Pt. III - Problem solved

A few weeks ago I posted a problem that my loader wouldn"t work. I received a lot of suggestions but nothing worked until a guy called Hutch from Australia was posting on another site about hydraulics on a MF40. It turns out I didn"t have the standpipe in the pump properly so that"s why it was getting the fluid to the cylinders. He said to reach in the inspection plate opening and find the hole in the pump for the pipe, line it up and tap it in. He said "then she will work" and it sure did. I just want pass this to anyone else who may need occasional help like me...and I usually find it if I look hard enough. By the way, what do you guys think of an industrial loader Massey Ferguson MF40?

Hi Brian, A great HD machine. Customers loved the
instant reverse. Sold lots to blacktop companies.
What model loader do you have on it? Remember tho
they are "old" Chuck

The one I'm considering has 34 loader, I think. Its diesel and doesn't look too bad. Its more of a want than a need since I got my Massey 35 back in operation. Just don't want a money pit with the power steering cylinders and separate loader pump, brakes, etc. I guess all old tractors are a crap shoot.

The MF40 was an outstanding loader tractor, especially with the 34 loader. The seperate loader pump is what most people want. It's basically a real HD 135. MF40 had hydrostatic power steering, again very desirable. The 3 cyl. Perkins diesel is arguably the best engine ever made! What kind of price are we talking about?

Its $5500 or best offer........I was thinking of $4500 to $5000 depending on how it works. I haven't seen it yet.
