Great Pictures !

And of course I must kid you a bit. Corn in picture two doesn't look bad for March 24th, but ours is much taller and greener here in Ohio !

Ha ha, I wish !

Thanks for posting, Bill

Sorry folks,I dont have any better mountain pictures.I dont take scenery because they dont show much. They never do justice to the views.

Hardly any field work here in SW Ohio has been done.

Where are you located ? Delta ? Mississippi ?

Guy's here are getting anxious to start. Some years in River Bottoms some corn gets planted in late March but general start date is April 10th.

I grew up with Dad who was service mgr at IH Dealer in Troy, OH all his working life. He always said when field work started late guys tore up more and also would mean a couple more Tractor and Plow units would be sold at last minute. He was right, remember several times going in right after school and helping get some of last minute sales ready. The most awesome at young age to me was 560 and 512, 5 bottom plow. I thought how would there ever be anything bigger and nicer than this ? Of course that was just the tip of the iceberg of things to come !

"M"udding with a "M"4 tank, the bottom part of one that is. This drilled holes to put in footers for a power line.

Snowman info- 50 feet tall, arms are a damaged auger tube. IIRC, near Foley, MN this winter. There is a smaller one near St. Anna, NW of St. Cloud. That one was done other years as well.

thats is about 14 years ago ,the other lady was a friend of my moms

That's the current model. They're still available. You can get them decaled as an Agco,New Idea or Massey. They all say Agco on the tag and have the same range of serial numbers. The decals are the only difference.
The dealer was telling me two years ago that he had a guy come in wanting a new New Idea spreader. He said that was all the his grand dad,his dad and he had ever had and he wouldn't settle for anything else. When the darned thing came in it had Massey decals on it. He said he steamed them off, spent $12 on a set of New Idea decals, put those on and delivered it. The guy was happy as a clam and never knew the difference.

OMG!!! John , I used to own one of those! The Jap bikes were left in my dust. Torque monster for sure.At 63 can only wish I was 25 again.lol

The 81 Maico 490 is considered the best MX bike ever made. Of course you have consider that to be in it's time period. The 82 actually made more HP but the rest of the bike was wacky and heavier. The Maico story would make for a really good movie with espionage and Nazi Germany, etc. I know a guy who bought a restored one like in the picture. I'm guessing he paid $8000 or more for it.
