Thanks to y'all for the prayers last August when my youngest (USMC) left for Afghanistan. He has now left and after debreif will be back state side soon.

Tell him thanks. I had the honor last week to greet another Marine who got back about 3 weeks ago and is currently home on leave.

my wife and I are 66 year old former marines, I am so proud that the tradition continues and so very thankful when they come home. bless your family, have a bbq and some suds. steve roberts
 
Two problems with your post. There are no "former" Marines, and "Marines" is ALWAYS capitalized.

What were your MOS's?
 
I remove my cap, i kneel down, say a word of thanks. I stand and offer him my hand and a genuine thank you for putting his life in danger to protect us all. It takes a hero to do his job, he's done it therefore your Son is my hero. Thanks for posting.
