Len, I ran 645b they are around 25000 pounds and have a 3 yard bucket. It was built around 1975. We used it for loading gravel screen and pushing snow box in parking lots. It was 30 years old when we used it and was trouble free. It has air brakes, and I did have brake failure from over use. I never did that again! Compared to todays loaders its crude but it got the job done. They can lift a lot ,hope this helps. Greg

I had a 645 loader it was a 67 model. It was a good loader except for the brakes. It had air over hydraulic and they were a lot of trouble. I found a place near Chicago that rebuilt the bendix part that was bad. I put the piece back in and sold the loader. A 645B was from the 70's and I believe they had a better brake system. The rest of the loader is similar to a 645. The engine on mine was the 6 cylinder 3500 series, I really liked that engine.

Bought my first one used in 1972. GREAT MACHINES WITH CRAPPY ENGINES. Here in Florida the engines couldn't take the heat. An OK engine in a tractor, junk in a loader. Had maybe a dozen over the years, including B's. installed new, used engines with new radiators. All the engines were shortlived. Installed JD engines, detroits. Had one machine go 13 years with a 4-71 and one transmission.Very basic machines, easy and cheap to repair except that engine.
