can these bulbs still be found? (Pics)

Can the bulb on the left ( original for the late supers and hundred series) be had without buying the entire fixture? I see re-pops of the whole thing on the market but not the bulb.

I don't know but I think with some juryrigging with the wiring you could make the one on the right work.

The original style is quite pricy ($15-20); many folks have used the 2 terminal style by putting a small diameter black rubber hose around the bulb to take up the extra space in the housing clamp. They are much cheaper also.

Sorry: the original style sealed beam bulbs at Steiner's Tractor parts are $55 for 6 or 12 volt!!
Plus shipping.

One of the aftermarketers should still offer a replacement metal backed sealed beam assembly in either 6 or 12 volts. Probably north of $45 per bulb by now.

IIRC, they don't fold the metal edge over the outside of the lens, and they use a glue/epoxy or something to keep moisture out of the sealed beam assembly. They don't fit perfectly, but they will work.

The last I knew the sealed beam cost $38, the one on the right I think has a square lug on the back in the way. Some vendor at a threshing show a few years ago had a conversion kit to put a 1156 bulb in place of the sealed beam, 20-25 bucks maybe.

A repop is a reproduction. I think he is saying that the entire light fixture is available in reproduction, but he just wants the bulb.

I use the one on the right. Run 2 wires and that ends any ground issues with the old bulb and rusty tractors. You will need to grind the square lug off with a bench grinder. Go slow with light pressure.

After looking at Bob's site the old light bulb is $3.18 for 6or 12 volt. If you want a sealed beam or the whole light that is much more money.
