Super A ignition

Is there anyway to "Soup-up" the ignition on my 1948 Super A? I"ve got a brand new battery, new plugs and good fuel. It cranks great but takes a long time to fire. I suspect a weak spark. I haven"t changed the timing or anything since the last tune-up and it just started taking longer to fire recently. Any suggestions?

Yes there is. Electronic ignition trigger fits into your distributor. New high output coil, and you will have a flame thrower.
But these start easily with just a few compression strokes to bring in a mix.
Is the choke rod closing the choke correctly?
Is the point gap at .020"?
Is the fuel pretty new.
Are the battery cables and wire to the amp gauge connected cleanly? what is the voltage on the coil when cranking?

You can make it easier to get help if you tell what it is that makes you "suspect' weak spark.

I would be willing to bet the trouble is in the carb. The idle circut is the culprit as you have the same spark whether the engine turns over once or several times it doesent take much spark to start an engine if the fuel is up to snuff. Its when you dont have any spark fix that. Idle circut in that carb can cause hard starting. Justbecause you can blow air thru thru passages doesent always mean they are clean. I do use a little lite and mirrors to see they arent partually clogged then use a drill bit to clear them.
