3400 Ford Industrial...Anybody have any specs?

Traded off some work on a customers machine for a 3400 Ford Industrial with a front loader and a backhoe. Not a bad deal given that it came equipped with a 4 fork lift for the front as well as a bucket, and 3 different size buckets for the backhoe. That said I can find weight, HP, etc, etc specs for it, but haven"t seen anything that gives even an approximate lift capacity for the front loader. So, does anybody out there have any idea what the lift capacity for this tractor is?

With my 3500, about 2,000 lbs would be a load. I don't know exactly, but my round bales weigh about 1,000 each, lt lifts one easy, I think it would lift two at the same time, but I know it wouldn't do three at a time.

Ask this on the Ford board.
A couple of guys there - FordFarmer? have some original literature on those tractors and should be able to help.

My literature shows the 3400 as being an industrial/utility tractor - not a factory-equipped loader-tractor or TLB. So capacity would depend on which loader and backhoe you have. It does show a 5000# rating for the front axle.
A little more looking in the book shows the 730 as the loader meant to fit the 3400, which has a max. lift of 2240# and 3385# breakout. The 10-ft. backhoe is the only one listed as recommended for the 3400.

Sorry, meant to hit the 4 instead of the 5...it's actually a 3500. That said, mine isn't one of the actual backhoes, like the 555's, etc. Instead it's a standard industrial tractor with the bolt on frames for the loader bucket, and the backhoe. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

That's what I thought too, but using it tonight showed me different. I'm thinking now it's around 2000 lbs, given the items I was, and was not, able to pick up this afternoon..

Tried picking a load this afternoon that weighs in close to 2500. It would just budge it enough to say I had tried, but not enough to actually pick it up. Like you, I'm not thinking it's close to 2000 lbs.

The neighbors have a 3500I, and it WILL lift two round bales on the front (1200) but that is putting the rims on the ground and flexing things that are NOT meant to be moved!! I would would say play it safe at 2000.

My neighbor had a Ford 4400 (which I now own) he picked up an AC WD-45 with it and was carrying it down the road when the front axle snapped clean off of the tractor, didn't do too much damage, but it certainly was a sketchy situation! Bryce

Book shows the 3500 as being equipped with the 735 loader, which is rated at 3050# lift, 4360# breakout. 10' and 13' backhoes are listed for the 3500.
If it will barely lift 2000#, I'd suspect a clogged filter, low oil, or worn pump.
