We're is spring? We had ice and some snow yesterday, and over night. Tuesday it was 45*, right now it's 10* with 20-25 mph winds. What a change, but I guess that ground hog was right, this has been a pretty nasty March! Prolly go right into April. Lol. We dident get as much snow as they said either 5-10, we got about 3 inches.

Never paid much attention to the groundhog unless he was raiding the garden. Then he was in my sights.
The thousands of wooly worms we had here last fall sure got this winter right.

Hey Jay.

We got about 20 inches of spring here in Malone.

I should be in the woods cutting firewood but right now I am looking for some x-country ski boots so that I can at least get around out there.

We got about a foot in the Lowville area. Hard to tell for sure. bare ground in spots and 6ft. snow drifts in others. (like right in front of the shop doors) It was 0 this morning with a stiff wind. Snow was just starting to go down enough to get into the woods without hassle. Oh well.......

Jay. Got a new bit of information this A.M.from my son. Gonna have an El-nino season this year. Better winter then this one. Happy Easter.!!! Be no need to complain.lol.If that is true, we can put all our snow removal equipment on Craigslist.Nice here, 30 deg ABOVE ZERO and sunny, was 45-50 above zero the last couple of days.Have to add the above zero part as this year we have been below zero most of the time.

Wood pile went down in a heart beat, can't remember when we was this close to being out of wood in the spring, always had an excess. Son had to replace the E-clip and sprocket washer on the 044,the chain sprocket broke last year, and was replaced, but had to fire it up to cut some wood for daughter and clip flew off. Never find it in that much snow.Wanting to do the garden.

Winter over lapping into spring, and summer overlapping into fall, and we're always looking for relief from either !

This was not as bad as '10-'11 on the snow accumulation, but the cold temps sure have been often.

According to the map, the cold air that swooped down, makes the northeast the coldest in the U.S.

Just wait til is hot and humid, we will be wanting that same relief, always nice when that cold air moves in, when its SUMMER LOL !

I don't like the wind or ice, but I don't mind the cold and snow. I do hate the hot humid weather, last summer we had that 6 day heat wave, over 90* for those 6 days, now that stinks! Lol

I agree, we put a good dent in the wood pile too, can't even get out there to start makin next seasons wood with the snow and cold. Hung sap buckets almost 3 weeks ago just to make a couple gallons of syrup, 5 gallon buckets hardly have any sap in them yet! Be awhile for the garden, I'm gonna start some things indoors, I learned my lesson the hard way last spring, keep the cat away from the plant tray. Everything came up, was growing good, then the cat knocked it off the window ledge and on the floor! Lol, stay warm Lou,

"They" say that we have global warming here in AZ, as we are 5-6 degrees warmer than usual for this time of the year. Already short of rain for YTD. Some places are talking about water rationing by the middle of the summer - but golf course will probably be exempt (It's political).

MIght want to capture some of the snow melt water; you might need it this summer.

Nope, won't need. I have a good well, and were on clay, takes forever to dry out. Also have a pond. Last may/June we had 20"of rain a record. Lol

Me neither, wind, cold and blowing snow, ice sleet, no good, send it back LOL! Snow, cold and calm winds, with sun, not so bad at all.

Thing with last summer was that darned rain, the whole east coast suffered through it, but better than drought, just makes it hard to do things in the short windows of clear weather. Seems we are always in the middle of conflict, cold dry air pushing in from the north, then the tropical air trying to bully us from the south and off the ocean, can't win I tell ya !!!

This winter will soon be a memory, trust me on that, I put specific orders in for that to be so....... LOL !!!!! We'll see how that goes ;)
