My wife is doing great with her rehab. My hat is off to the great people at the Mayo clinic. They not only have treated her health issues but have also helped her greatly in her out look on life.

I went up Friday to pick her up. She will be staying home until Wednesday of next week. She has to be back for more rehab. Maybe another 3-4 weeks and they hope she will be able to finish at home.

She can walk around with a walker for some support. She can set up in a chair and car now. When they started she could not stand at all and could only set in chair for a short time. She was in constant pain. Now she has little pain just is weak and off balance. She is getting stronger all of the time. Her younger age is helping her out.

While she was at Mayo I had tried to finish my tax paperwork. I found out real quick I do NOT know how to use the Quick books as well as I thought I did. LMAO I really messed up trying to do the year end reports I needed for taxes.

It took her about five minutes to get the correct year end report I needed. I worked one whole weekend and could not get it right. LOL

She is having a fun time making fun of my computer skills at the moment. Fine by me it is great to hear her laugh again. Even if it is at me.

I even went and picked up my Father from the assisted living center. He has been raising cane about not seeing her. He was pretty good for most of the visit. He did start on her about getting better so he could come back home and she could help care of him. I shut him down real fast on that. Her "helping" him is what got this whole thing started. No way, no how is that going to happen again.

He is not of a full sound mind after his strokes. He will more than likely never live at home again. He sure will not be doing it with my wife as his caretaker. He should try to get one of my two lazy sisters to take care of him. Heck will freeze over before they help out any.

Did have a house full of kids and Grand Kids most of the day. Some of the women folk are taking her back Wednesday along with a shopping trip in Rochester. I know that the two DIL are going and 2-3 of the grand daughters. I am glad to NOT be included on that trip. LOL Your right I am a chicken. Shopping with that many women would be not be my idea of fun. There are too many of those questions where there is no good answer: "Honey does this dress make me look thinner/younger/prettier" there is no "correct" answer. Plus I usually get to be pack mule on top of it.

Praise God!!!Susan was in the same boat 3 1/3 years ago. After being so sick/near death she is now 'training' for a 5K walk. The rehab is key, keep it up!!!Very soon your wife will also be doing marathons!God bless you both.

Tell your wife to keep up the good work! Glad to hear she is getting better, I'll keep on praying for your family. Chris

Well good for you! I would not be walking today if it was not for good therapy..On a side note, if your wife will straighten my taxes out, I would take her shopping for a month and rub her feet if she needed it. Again I am so happy for you.

Very good news,JD,and don't hesitate to keep us updated on her improvement and make sure and keep yourself healthy to help her when she comes home. RB

That's great news, JD Seller! Hope your wife continues to improve.

When she goes back, will she be at St. Mary's Hospital campus or at the downtown Mayo/Methodist Hospital campus?

If she is downtown... you ought to go wandering in the pedestrian subways and skyways. You can get around the whole downtown without ever stepping outside.

If you like Italian food, Victoria's Ristorante & Wine Bar has great food.

Good news, glad she's coming along. Physical Therapy has helped me overcome several conditions, I'm a great believer. Keep it up.

Glad things are going well for both of you- when they bring her back, don"t fill the car with gas.....another 90 miles North and they"ll be shopping at the Mall of America!

Hope your wife gets better.

When windows 95 came out, I learned how to use speadsheet. Been using it 19 years. Even have son put windows 95 on my new computer.

That said, I know how to use it, so why change. I do my paper work as I go through out the year, not all at once at end of year. Saves me time. I printed out 20 pages this year. They are done the way my CPA likes them. I use spreadsheet to balance check book too. I use credit card for business, nice to have a print out of all monthly expenses. Helps with records.

Good news about your wife, hope she keeps up the good work and will be home full time shortly. And also a quick thank you for all the input you give to this site. Your knowledge of tractors is awesome.

(quoted from post at 05:56:24 03/10/14) "Pack mule" is not the right word, try "caddy" instead.

JD great news!

Nope John, with JD it's pack mule at best! Sorry JD couldn't resist.

Rick

Great news JD. I was wondering about her as I was up there at the same time. Had a radical prostatectomy and two weeks out had absolutely no side effects and can do anything except heavy lifting for a couple of weeks longer. I did get a good look at that twenty million dollar machine that they used on me but only for a few minutes before I was sent to never never land. I have had a lot of experience with Mayo and generally there is a team of doctors that work on you. You can be assured that one of the team is the one that wrote the book on that procedure.

George We do the paperwork as we go along too but you need to generate the year end totals of everything. That is what I was having trouble with. Some of the tables would not be added into the totals.
