For some time I have been getting some pain and numbness on the out side edge of the ball of one foot and also one toe on the same foot. When I finally took a look I found a big black area on the bottom of a toe and a small one on the side of the ball. I got an appointment with the foot doc, who told me that I had chill blains, whereas just before the appointment I had it attributed to a pair of boots that I wore only occasionally. For about a six weeks I wore only looser shoes and sneakers, and kept myself on light duty and I finally have it pretty well healed up. Yesterday I went and got a new pair of Keen brand "metatomical high-tech" work boots in a wider size. Moral of the story is don't assume that your feet are going to remain the same size until you die.

I know what you mean. Wore size 12 until I was about 50 then I had to change to size 13. My Dad went from size 12 to size 13 at about age 60. Guess the waistline isn't the only thing that expands with age.

Same here. I have gone from 9D to 10 EEE in the last 6-7 years, I buy shoes and have to take the liners out. Doc says diabetes and gout with diabetes, kinda unhandy and hard to drag them big Red Wings.

I went from size 12 to 13 at about 55 yrs. big feet can be tough on a 2n with wagner loader so I made a handy step to keep boots off the hydro. lines. picture taken before paint and non skid rubber pad.

I wear a size 16 and my nose and ears are already pretty oversize,
so I wonder what the next 40 years may hold.

I must be one of the fortunate ones. I have been wearing a size 12-D since I was 16 and I am now 67. I have only wore Red Wing Georgia,Carolina, and Chippewa work boots. For dress I am still wearing the dress shoes that I got when we got married.

You must be a pretty tall guy Zach! I am 6'5, and depending on the day/brand I wear 16's or 17's. I however am beginning to have the same problem my dad always has, my toe next to my Big Toe on each foot, is slightly longer than my big toe....

My grandma had to have an operation to have some of her toe cut off because she could no longer fit in shoes..... Bryce

That is a fact. I wore size 10 for over 40 yrs till I was having a lot of foot pain. Found out my feet were now size 12. End of foot pain!

The same thing happened to me. The shoes I wore 15 years ago in my 40's just don't fit me anymore, they are too small. I did gain ten pound over that time, so I went up one pants size and two full shoe sizes.

Most of you guys must be shopping in the boys department.

I went from 14 to 15. And I don't buy Chinese foot wear.

I am 7'-1/2" tall, but usually when asked I leave off the 1/2" for convenience. My nose is not quite as big as Cyrano de Bergerac's nose was reputed to be but my mother used to say it was big enough to drive a school bus through.

I switched to Terra Lite work boots (yeah, made in
China, I know) but they have no steel in them, just
the new plastic sole plate and toes. They're just
as safe as steel, but they're much warmer on the
feet in cold weather. Plus they're a wider size
than I had before, and my feet don't get sore after
a day on concrete any more. I even prefer them over
sneakers for walking any distances.

I made extra steps on four tractors a few years ago....on some I welded expanded metal on top of the smooth steel step.

I wore size 13 A red wing shoes when I was 13 yrs old. I still wear size 13 , but B width.
I am very sorry to say that the most comfortable work boots that I have owned are from china now. Still size 13.Not real proud of that , but at 75yrs+ I want comfortable foot wear.
When driving tractors , my big shoes do not fit all the pedals at times. clint

At 40, my feet grew from a 14 to 15. Explained why my toes felt smashed for a while.

I have heard good things about Keen, don"t own a pair yet. Mainly Merrell and Red Wing for me. Red Wing makes a few of their boots with what they call "king toe". Gives you a little more room.
