Tonights feature is from Billy NY and is the 'item seen in a
scrapyard that should not have been there' Keep your ideas coming
everyone..........Sam
My entry has to be this little MF 65 found in a scrapyard in TX
with less than 1000 hrs on the clock. The tractor was perfect, but
unfortunately distance stopped me from saving it!

I didn't get any pictures of it, but I was at the scrap yard
one day when a guy drove in with a 1972 Plymouth Duster.
Said the oil pressure light came on so it was junk.
Not even a spot of rust on the car, but he wouldn't sell it to
anyone but the junkyard because of his perceived "liability".

My lawn mower (had about one hour on the engine but no rt frnt drive wheel and snap ring. $37.00

My rototiller - Rotohoe brand- Needed a wasp nest removed from mag.

My Barbeque Char Broil Needed nothing.

The bed on my 51 GMC 3/4 ton (two bullet holes add character)

Liking it Sam. It's still too far for me as well! Why does it seem like there's a flock of 65s in Texas or Oklahoma? Going to buy a 175 tomorrow that's an hour away, that's almost too far!

Sam,
I saved a MF65. My boss bought it from his brother-in-law, wasn't running & the bearing in planetary was bad. It sat behind his barn for a couple years, pushed it with his backhoe & broke the front spindle. After that he wanted to scrap it. So I asked if I could work on it, now it runs good. We made a 3 point carrier for it last week.

The first 3020 came from a scrap yard wasn't running and had water in trans. Primed the fuel and flushed the trans and changed filters. Lift control cable had to be replaced. Ran good all last season.

5 or 6 yrs ago I watched a guy pull up with a cub tractor and blade. he let down the ramps crawled on the tractor fired it up ,crossed the scales and sold that sucker for scrap little feller did not smoke a lick.. cause he crossed the scales I wasn't allowed to buy it for double what scrap brought him. I almost got banned from the property for trying to buy that cub

I was at our local recycle emporium about a year ago and there sat a 14" two bottom 3pt. hitch plow, a 3pt. hitch mowing machine and another piece which I can't remember. The green paint was still in excellent condition and the plow didn't look like it had many hours on it at all! My problem is, when I visit the place, I am selling because I need the money, and never have any extra to spend! I was there about a month ago and the man who helped me unload said his wife told him in no uncertain terms, that he had better not bring any more riding mowers home.

Finding a Duster or Demon with no rust comes under the "nice dream, but it ain't gonna happen" catagory. Scrapping a Cub in good running condition? What the heck is the matter with people? Makes me wonder if the Duster and the Cub weren't stolen............
