Propane delivery today

Almost 100 gallons/week since the last one.
I can't wait to start complaining about how
much it costs to run the air conditioner!
Mine's pre-paid, but I'll probably run over what I paid for.
$2.79/gallon was the price if you were paying today.
Other companies are not honoring their budget plan prices.
Oh yeah, they didn't have any trouble getting to the
tanks. I had the path all cleared out with the tractors. ;)

Im betting there will be a lot more people pre-paying next year and Im guessing the price wont be as cheap as it was in the past. That has happened before with other fuels. I have AC in my house now lol.

I bought a 1000 gallon tank for this house here a few years ago. I am darn glad this winter. I filled last fall for $1.49. I hope the gauge is correct as it shows I still have 25%.

I really wonder about the companies that are not honoring the contracts. If it was the other way I bet they would make YOU honor the contract. It they tried that with me I think I would seek legal action.

Cash price here is around $2.40. One supplier limiting you to 100 gallons but the other local one same as usual on delivery.

I prepay in late summer early fall each year. I fill everything up before winter but usually have some still to be delivered. I have never had any of the local companies try to stiff me on what I have paid for. It would get ugly if they tried.

Today,s Headline here in NH is natural gas has doubled in fourteen months. They blame it on you guys out west using so much propane. The utility asked for .13 increase. The PUC gave them .17 so that they wouldn't have to recover lost ground come summer. The utility says that due to demand and shortages they had to go into the spot market, which of course is where the speculators are trying to make money for the funds that the retired baby boomers are trying to live on.

That's kind of how I have it figured, like gasoline. Run the prices up to say, $4.25 per gallon, everyone screams, ease it back down to $3.75 a gallon and everyone things they're getting a deal. Do it long enough and folks start thinking that $100 to fill the 1/2 gallon hybrid gas tank on a Prius is normal.

I sense that the same is going to happen to propane as well. Prices are going up even though we are told that there is no inflation. People have to come up with $$$ to survive, and it has to come from somewhere...our wallets. Simple economics. I stopped at a Burger King a week or so ago and bought a plain whopper with cheese, and three plain cheese burgers to take home, at first the guy said something like $14.00. I asked what. His manager cleared it up, $11.00 something. Prices on everything going up, and I can do without somethings like fast food. Need propane though, for now.

I've used up all my pre-buy already. Bought same amount I did last year. This refill (March) was on me. Was surprised that supplier charged me the same rate they had on pre-buy last summer. With shortages and lurching prices, I expected the worst...

Royse,

We paid $2.86 a couple weeks ago from a Co-Op. We were pleased - we had been hearing much higher prices.

I'm pretty sure on the next trip, the gas man may have to do a little "mountain climbing" here. We've run out of places to pile the white stuff.

Except for our Case DC3 snow-pushing tractor... ALL other tractors are now snow-blockaded into their sheds by small white mountain ranges. They won't see the light of day until this darn white stuff melts.

we paid $ 3.16 per gal, non delivered, yesterday for propane. that was in hollister calif. a few weeks ago we went to burger king and got 2 double cheese burgers, 1 sml fry 1 lrg fry and 2 malts. it came to almost $19.00 we were tee'd off, we could have went and sat in a real restaurant for that kind of money. same with mickey d's, dollar menu ain't a dollar no more.

A local propane company canceled their prepaid contracts. Really ticked alot of people off. Company told everybody, read your contract. Seems they have a clause in the contract that if wholesale fuel price increases a certain percent in a certain time period the company retains the right to cancel the contracts so they did.

I heard prices were down to under $2 around here.
Our last delivery was March of 2013 - and we're are
still at 65% on a 1000g tank, so it will be awhile
before we top it off.

Got the last of my prepaid delivered Friday at $1.59 per gal. Driver said the cash price was $ 3.10. Hope it gets me through till summer fill prices. He said they may delay the prepay and summer fill a few weeks to see if prices go down.
This is a locally owned company in south central Indiana. He also said supply had not been a problem for them.

That is what I think too. So Im guessing having it "your way" does cost more? lol.... I wonder where its all going to end.

Last report here in NE Kansas from a couple of coops was $1.79, down from 2.49 we paid for 100 gallon about 5 to 6 weeks ago. Lady told us they thought the price would drop if we wanted to just get enough to get by.

Yep, but in all fairness, I ordered them, so I paid for them and took them home. Won't be doing that again anytime soon.
