In my area of west Michigan was one of the countries largest Lithuanian settlements. Many Polish also. Always was fun to listen the the people from the "old counrty" speak in broken English. Sure miss their work ethic and craftsmanship. I still think they got more done by Wedensday than I can all week. Most did drink a bit though.

My grandmother was Lithuanian, came over with her parents.

Maiden name was Stulgaitis - changed to Johnson when they arrived here.

She became a lawyer - back when there weren't a whole lot of female lawyers.

My wife's parents are from Lithuanian. FIL, was born in 1920. Came to the US in 1956. My wife was 8 at the time. He died a few years ago. It's very interesting listenning to his view of WW2. When Hitler invaded Lithuania there wasn't a shot fired. 90% of Lithuanias were Greman. They welcomed Hitler. If you didn't want to join Hitler, you were shipped off to a concentration camp.

Somewhat like Putan's incursion into Crimea. Crimea was once a part of Russia. The people welcomed Putan, no shots fired. The Ukraine was also part of Russia.
