Poor safety and tractor driving skills

I love to watch idiots tear stuff up. I've got a neighbor that does things just like that only he uses road gear for everything.

When that Deere shows up on CL you better run quick.

I'll tell you what! I watched a guy almost kill himself that way one time. I was renting a place from an old lady, and her retired son came out with an 800 Ford and a short chain. He hooked the chain to an old dead apple tree, jumped back on the tractor and yanked. The tree came down between the seat and fender. About all that happened to him was that it knocked his hat off. He took the tractor back home limping pretty slow down the road.

He's getting his education. Isn't it nice how we can learn from the mistakes of others, ha! Apparently this man wasn't paying attention during "class".

That reminds me of a neighbor, when I lived in town, who wanted me to pull out a giant bush that had obscured the picture window in front of his house. I had my 630 Deere but no chain. He had a brand new chain in a pretty cloth sack, and I mumbled about not wanting to break his new chain. He laughed real big and said, "You can't break that chain with THAT little tractor!" Does that sound like a challenge, or what?? Yup - now he's got two chains.

Thanks Bob!

It's a good thing God watches over fools. My finest day for stupid would be very intertaining if it had been caught on video. A stock pond went dry and was overgrown in weeds. I was about half finished mowing when the tractor broke through the crust and sunk. Heavy rain was in the forcast so I hooked a 4 ton winch and snatch block to a 16" diameter willow, put the tractor in low over low and was watching a rear tire for first sighn of movment before releasing the clutch. Tree trunk snapped and tree fell over on me and tractor. No damage other than dirty drawers. First time I ever did something stupid. Or was it the secound,,,,maybe the ,,,,well I lost count but it will be the last.

I did something like that once. I was out of longer chains and was pulling out a 10' cedar tree with my B Farmall. I knew bit was coming so I eased into it until the tree was leaning on me and then pulled on it. I was just surprised the ol B pulled it out.
