Cub on Ebay

I've been watching the cub on ebay that Larry@stinescorner mentioned in an earlier post. It sold for $3,894!!! No way I would have paid that. All it had with it was Fertilizer distributor, planter and while he says cultivators, from the pics I don't think everything is there. I think it's missing some of the front cultivator parts and I only see 5 feet. I know the fertilizer distributor is a harder to find item but planters are fairly common. I'll have to keep this option in mind if I have a tractor to sell as nobody even bothers to ask this much for them on Craig's List around here--this tractor was local to me.

If it's in good condition that's still a better buy and will keep more value and outlast a new garden tractor for that price- that would be a cheapie garden tractor. (but of course a Cub isn't as handy for some things)

Here's a cheaper one that's closer to you, just doesn't have the same implements.

My father sold one that had a snow plow, a plow, a sickle mower and the cultivator set for 3500 a couple years ago. I thought it was way too much but he got it. His had the fast hitch on it though.

He advertises it as original. I think maybe 2 people got the idea that it was in original condition, and not restored at all.

It has been repainted, poorly. It is not a survivor, if that is what some bidders were thinking.

If everything was sold separately, it might fetch around $3000. I just hope someone doesn't end up truly disappointed and later feeling burned when they realize it isn't all original.

Ad says Southampton PA. I don't know where that is but it is probably closer to Larry@stinescorner than North Carolina.

Speaking for myself
- I don't care.
- I do care.
- I don't care about the specific tractor or what the specific seller paid or what the specific buyer made.
- I do care in that I've learned that a cub in X condition with X implements in X location was able to sell on ebay for X. Thus giving me more info on what I might expect to buy and or sell one for. And, apparently others enjoy exchanging info on the used tractor market as well.
