-17° Green Bay, WI

At 5:30 this morning I had -17° at the barn
Thawed out water in the old again....
Back out the house @ 6:30 was -18° in the valley
of NO SUN Northwest Pa....

Isn't it just lovely? We are above zero - but barely.

I'm wondering if we will at least reach 32º by Memorial weekend! I'm cautiously optimistic.

Your not the only one. It was -17 here in Mi. at 6am. Its all the way up to -6 now at 830 am. Its suppose to hit 18 above today. I try to stay positive, thats a 35 degree increase?????.

22F below last night here in Alpena, Michigan. Looking out the window now and it's now a "tropical" 19 below. Also had some real high winds last night that really drifted snow around and I suspect wind-chills around 30 below F. The black squirrel seems fine with the temps though.

It was -28 here in northern Mich this morning and is still -15. Come on spring. News said it was -30 at Grayling which is 20 miles north of me

-18 in Mid Michigan. Was up to +3 when I came back in at 9:20. The 1600 gas started, thank God for that. The 1365 let me down for the first time. I towed that out of the hay barn, around in front of the toolshed and plugged it in. I'll try it again in an hour or so.

Official reading at the local airport was -20.4 F at 5:30 this morning. Previous all time low was -7 in 1962.

I see a problem with this weather. All your thermometers go below zero. You need to buy the updated gore thermometers they do not go below zero. Plus it is political incorrect to say the temp is below zero, that is demeaning the a zero. Trying to make someone smile or laugh,it might warm us up. steve

I'm going to venture a guess, but maybe the nuisance insects and other similar things will be less this summer, I know it will make a difference here, won't see those gnats and tiny ones till June I'll bet.

A friend of mine has an Oliver and a Cockshutt 1850 gas. He's setting one up for a loader tractor. He's thinking of repowering the other with a diesel. I was thinking, after all the horror stories of trying to start diesels to feed critters with this winter, maybe there's a market for gas tractors?!

Well,I've got a 77 gas and a 1600 gas. The 1600 started to drop bales in,the 77 is on the silage cart and I had to jump that. The 1365 diesel had never failed before, but this morning was just stupid cold. I didn't even know if the block heater worked. I plugged it in and after an hour and a half it started alright. Might be years before it fails me again.
But,yea,it doesn't hurt to have a gasser around.

(quoted from post at 11:36:31 02/28/14) Yes , but how on your keyboard do you make that little degree sign .

I've always used the * .
Around 40* this morning, drizzling right now and around 50*. Supposed to get up to 64* tomorrow, then thunderstorms and possibly freezing rain on Sunday with a low in the 20's.
I'm gonna stop reading these posts from ya'll up North, I get to shivering from looking at the pictures! 8)

London,Ontario, -25C at daybreak furnace quit in the night because the guage on the oil tank stuck so I ran out.Blew 4 cast iron radiators that I know of so far all in the NW corner of the house.Cold water running again to second floor bathroom but still no hot water.Wood supply is already running low and now have 3 electric heaters going.Spring can come anytime.

-15 in Mid Michigan when I came home from work thursday night. That temp seems to be the tipping point for things to quit working. Basement with the furnace in it was very cold this morning and both hot water in kitchen and bathroom were just starting to freeze up. Had snow piled up around the foundation about three times this year and it melted down and the cold gets back in easier now. Came home tonight and it's 18 above outside and feels like spring compared to last night. This winter's getting very expensive!

It's hard to believe in eight days we turn the clocks ahead for Daylight Savings Time on Sunday March 9. It still feels like January. The days are getting longer and in protected areas the sun has some power already. Maybe this winter is coming to an end.
