Everyones favorite tractor

Boy that's a hard one to answer, almost like being asked which one of your kids you love the best lol,.....for me it'd be my 28 john deere D, I wanted a D for many years and finally won mine on an auction 5 years ago.

Well I have one for every brand almost

MM- g1355, g1350 or g1000 vista
ford- 9000 or 9600
Allis chalmers 220 or d19
Oliver 2255 or 1950t
White 2-180
Case 1470 or 1030
Massey ferguson 1150

1960 JD 630 . Closely followed by a 1960 JD 530 and in third place a 1960 JD 730 DE . The 1960 part adds a little challenge as 1959's are WAY more common .

The Oliver 77 is and has been since Dad bought one new in 1950. I have a soft spot for the Allis Chalmers C as well.

That depends on the job I need it for. This might be the favorite on this job, but is not my favorite on another. I love my WD for a lot of jobs, but will never but the front end loader on it again. I guess I have a DuaL 75 loader for sale.

I kinda like this one.....

But I am really partial to the D19 Turbo Diesel, too....first farm tractor with a turbo....

When most guys get a Cialis they don't get a soft spot, quite the opposite actually. Just teasing you. Nice looking tractors

(quoted from post at 18:26:08 02/27/14) What's everyone's favorite tractor??
ell, you've heard me say this before. Favorite tractor in the small fleet I own is the SC Case. It's simple and doesn't give me any grief. I put gas in it and it runs. New battery every five years and an oil change every, well, whenever the spirit moves me. Jim

In my 'herd' it would have to be my 706turbo(310).My Super is a very close 2nd.Of those that I dont own,a late 8N Ford would be at the top.But then again,Any tractor that runs well is a 'favorite'!....

The old 4320. I told my wife I'd get rid of her before it, she thought I wad joking ......the 30 diesel is a close second.

Dads G1000 MM combining grain millet back in the 90's, now probably my 1586, warm in the winter, cool in the summer.

my dads Case 430 diesel, the DC and 800,,The 4020 and the 1070 , and I like raking with a wd allis , vac , or sc case ..i like them all for certain jobs ...only had one tractor that i just could not stay happy on , massey 210,,gawd, that thing was awful to0 get along with for a 1980s tractor ,, but i made $$$ when i sold it..

Probably my 1655 Oliver, but since I was a kid the Oliver 70 with tip toe wheels on the rear and rubber narrow front. One slick lookin machine with a design from the late 1930's.

I would have to say the 3020jd my dad had, always a joy to drive it. My second would be the 4320jd, more power than the 4020, and still as maneuverable, wish I wouldn't have traded that one, oh well, water under the bridge as they say. Maybe I can find another one I can afford one of these days, hey maybe.... nah better not.

I'm like a lot of you, have favorites for certain jobs. All around best old tractor is my WD45 Allis. Newer is a 6060 AC Allis with cab. Newer yet is a 4320 Compact JD. My son bought it a few years ago and I can't seem to live without it. We have regular bucket, pallet forks, and bale spear for the self leveling loader. Can change them in less than a minute. Also on the 3 point has a quick-coupler, with a hyd top link. Can hook all our small 3 point tools from the seat. It is a electronic hydro with 4 wheel drive and a Cab.

My 1944 JD B, just seems to be the one I go to when I need a tractor. Starts easy, nice compact size, and I like to hear it run.

I'll throw an odd one in. Mines gotta be the silver king model 42 my grandfather left me. I also like it because they are unique looking!

I've a couple of very late model Massey Fergusons and a stable full of vintage Fords but I would most miss my Kubota B1750HST CUT.

I have to say it is the c case my grandfather bought in 31' and let me tell you from skidding pulp to pulling cars out of the ditch at -40 below( with a tea kettle of boiling water over the carb of course)This tractor is still one of the main work horses on this place and the one I turn to when I cant figure out which tractor to use even with the lugs wore down.

I have a friend who cut himself once and bled Allis-Chalmers orange! Due to the difficulty of changing implements on some models, he had about half dozen Allis Chalmers tractors with a dedicated implement on each one. When he finished one operation, in stead of changing implements, he just changed tractors! (Honest, I seen it with my own two eyes!)

We bought a 656 diesel back about 1965 or 1966. Loved that tractor. Then in 1967, we also bought a 1650 Oliver diesel that was the dealer's demo tractor. As expected, it was turned up a bit so it would really pull good. Dad sold the 656 to a neighbor knowing I wanted it some day. Neighbor sold it to a tractor jockey and it is long gone. The 1650 was still around when both parents died so I bought it off the estate. I even found the purchase order when we bought it and every receipt for any work ever done to it. Would love to have the 656 back also but not a chance of that. These may not be the most powerful or most comfortable (no cabs in the winter) but I put a lot of hours on both and loved it.

Even though most I own and really like are Fords and Farmalls,
I'd have to give the favorite nod to my late styled JD B
(pulling a good load)

Although, like the other poster, the one tractor I refuse to get rid of except for maybe a newer model direct replacement,
is the Kubota loader equipped HST B7800....

Favorite was a AC WD we had back on the farm. Current is my 9N. Have had it for 20+ years and it's done everything I've ever ask of it and it's still crankin'.

(quoted from post at 02:26:08 02/28/14) What's everyone's favorite tractor??
ine is my 1950 model B. Dad bought new and was always very proud of it. Always ran it when I was a kid, Dad has been gone for a long time but still can see him on it. Bob

Looks more like a straight 6 conversion..

My Favorite that I don't have but have put
many hours on one would be a 2520 Diesel J/D.

1952 H Farmall with a loader that's been in the family for over 50 years.

Least favorite was an Oliver 70. It wasn't a bad tractor--if you could ever get the dammed thing started. My dad finally sold it to a salvage yard.

Not the one that I would most prefer to drive if I were stil farming, but then at 66 I have 2 artificial hips and a bad back, so I don't spend much time on any tractor, but my favorite is the 41 Farmall H that my father farmed with for 45 years, as well as me having spent many many hours on. A few years ago some friends purchased it from the then current owner, fixed it up and gave it back to me as a surprise. I sat there crying like a baby.

Wow does that picture bring back memories for me. I
learned to drive a tractor on my grand dads 41
Farmall H. I know where the old girl is too and I'm
hoping to get it back, seized engine and all.

1975 ford 5200 (tall 5000).

Got to 3-4 years ago, just had $4200 put into it, gets the most hours for twiddle around jobs on this farm since I got it.

Before that the Ford 960 did all those jobs, dad got that one at an auction, was the first tractor I ever drove, still have it. Needs a little attention, it was used so much couldn't hardly stop to fix it back in the day, baling wire and duct tape and keep going....

Well, here goes. As far as I am concerned this is just a heart breaking topic... :) I saw it yesterday and decided to think it over all night, and come morning, I still ain't sure!!

I guess, if I had to break down and choose, it would be my 1949 Farmall C (first tractor I ever owned) or my John Deere 40T. Both are VERY reliable, and both will pull a 2-14 plow.

This is a good picture of me plowing, kickin a$$ as you can see..... :)

Also a picture of my Farmall C all restored. This was the the first event I took it to. I was 13 in that picture... I had bought it the fall before it ok shape. Engine was trashed, but we still made it run. The first time I drove it I was so excited that I didn't even realize what was happening... When I was done I got off the tractor and mom came out to see what I was up to and started screaming because my face was completely black with oil, and it was burnt too! :)

This certainly was a hard decision, and the more I think about it the more I think that my neighbors TO-30 Ferguson should be on here too... He was like the grandpa I never had. Shortly after he passed away, I went down to the house to start getting stuff with another tractor, and just for giggles I walked over to this TO-30 to see if it would start. I jumped on, gave it some choke and throttle, and hit the starter. It rolled over a few times and then fired and ran for about a second. I tried again and never did get it. When dad and I went to go get the tractor, he pointed out the the distributor wasn't on the tractor, and a rag was stuffed in the hole where it should have been! I am sure to this day that was Ralphs way of saying good by...

But anyway, here is a picture of my haying with it! Bryce

My dad's JD 48A. My dad added power steering and you can steer that tractor with you little finger. James has it set up with a 350 sickle mower because its so easy to handle.

20+ years ago, we drove James' 65 Chevy "heavy Half" 1/2 ton p/u to Gosport, Indiana to get it. Trip back took 22 hrs. We could only travel about 50 mph and had to stop for gas about every 2.5 hrs. It was worth it. If we hadn't gone after it, it probably would have been sold.

Second is "Sparky" the JD M James bought for our 20th anniversary.

I know that feeling well. That's my 34 L and 36 C. Can go up to either of them, any time of year, pull the crank three times, and we're running...

I guess my favorite so far is "George" , my 1954 TE-A20 Ferguson. This picture is as it was the day I got it. I named it George in honor of my late Grand dad.
