VHS TAPES TO CDS

I see on here where some of you have posted clips from old vhs tapes.How do you do that?What equipment do you have to have to make that work?I have a vhs player and a lap top with a burner.I also have a vhs player that suppose to be able to burn to dvd but have some old movies it want let me burn.To keep it tractor related the old vhs or tractor pulls etc. thanks

There are several programs that do this make it's compatible with your computer. Go on line and search for VHS to DVD CDs won't hold enough data.

I use a USB video encoder such as the Startech SVID2USB23 to transfer the video from VHS into the computer, then use a video editor/production program to edit the video and then save out to a file or DVD (I use AVS Video Editor, can find at www.avs4you.com). Many other available.

You can purchase vhs to dvd converters. It basically plugs into your computer and to your VCR. I bought one for $20 and it worked pretty good. It also comes with software.

I just got a converter for the same reason. Makes DVDs that will play fine on any other computer but not on a regular DVD player for the TV. Do yours work OK?

I believe that you mean DVD, not CD. Sony VRD-MC3. Shop on eBay. The Sony will not accept copy-protected signals.
Add a GREX from Israel to handle the copy protection problem .
Forget cheap DVD. Use Taiyo Yuden Professional. Supermediastore may have the best prices on those.

a few years ago and have transferred some of my VHS movies to digital. They seem to burn to DVD ok. I still need to work on the file size as I am not quite satisfied with the video quality.

I saw a sign in back at walmart that they offer that service on non-copyrighted material.
