Cold all week. This has been a long winter. It sure has cut down on the guys running around town in their droopy shorts & flip-flops though.

Ready for spring.......

Glenn F.

Cut down on guys with flip flops and shorts due to cold weather or is it because football season is over in green bay . after watching some of the games i wonder have they got over their colds yet? only at a pack game guys sitting with no shirts in winter

Glenn F; this from the feller southwest of you =

"We like our weather, it keeps the riff-raff out!".

No offense, but funny it is.

I always tell people here in Wisconsin "Don"t keep wishing we lived in a warm climate, because then everybody would want to live here and we would then just be another over-crowded Atlanta, Miami, Houston or Phoenix."

The worse our weather, the fewer the people, and the less we have to dead-bolt our doors at night. We are, indeed, blessed.

Yup his words not mine, but I concur. I'll bet it is nice and warm at Bultz' Bakery in Shawano...hot coffee and mom & pop bakery pastry items, MMMMMMMMMMM.

Glad I live in Manitowoc County and working down south in Sheboygan County today. Probably only 7 blow.

We"ve got ya beat! it"s -12 in Lacrosse, in the
Mississippi Valley. According to the "Weather
Guessers", it will be below zero every night, for
the next week. with highs in single numbers.
When this weather breaks, there will be the grand
daddy of all floods going down "Ol Man River",
washing out all that Cotton you downstream fellers
have planted!

It's not that bad, working on 41-43 bridge in GB. My grandpa always said, never fret over the weather there is not a thing you can do about it.

Yep,but on the bright side, the sun's shining. I had -1 at 7. By 8:30 it was up to +4. There's an awning out over the east door of the barn and that was wet and dripping in the sunshine.

jI'm late to the party, but it's 8 F and sunshine going up to 12 F. Played hockey yesterday and got a goal, last Tues got a hat trick. Oh well...

Al L and Glenn F,

I saw myself quoted here...I take no offense but you owe me a Leinies whenever we meet someday.

Cold weather: Have you ever seen anyplace really improved by more people moving in because it"s warm? The less people there are, the more real world there is to enjoy, and that includes you...and definitely me!

When I hear a local person complaining about the weather I always ask them "Did it ever occur to you we have cold and snow every winter? Don"t like it? LEAVE!".

Lots of people think progress is more people, more business, more cars, more malls, more this, more that.

My locale (R"burg in Sauk Co) has added stoplights as the population and traffic increases. When this place adds the 8th one I will consider moving to a smaller town.
When it adds the 9th, I"m done considering.

Pretty soon I won"t even be able to take my Farmall to the gas station or barber as traffic gets worse.

Most accurate picture I ever saw was two Native Americans watching a wagon train approaching, and one Native says "There goes the neighborhood".

Be happy we have cold and snow! It could be worse, lots worse.

LA, your comment about the Native Americans viewing the approach of "civilization" reminded me of a very poignant TV commercial aired in the 70s in the south Florida area.
No people in sight but view point is a camera pushing through a lush semitropical "jungle", breaking out onto the shore of a beautiful undisturbed lake, panning to show the pristine beauty, a loon calls in the silence, then a voice says something like "magnificent-let's develop it".

Not sure what the temperature was this morning, but I know we are looking at -20*F tonight here (about 40 minutes NW of MPLS). Looks like even the ten day forecast, the highs are in the single digits. March is also our snowiest month, which should prove to be interesting. I've got burms along the sides of the roads that are 6 feet+, and businesses have been trucking snow out for a month now in dump trucks to put in large fields.

Maybe March will be "In like a lion, and out like a lamb?" I could use some 60 degree tractor wrenching weather!
