in my travels today in nj,I noticed these roofs fell in sometime within the past two weeks,The first building was very old,it used to be an IH Equiptment dealer in Lebanon NJ,the other buiding is an empty horse barn at the one time large Lana Lobell horse farm, now many of the buildings are in bad shape there,Awhile ago I posted a picture of the horse barn with a hole in the roof, now the roof fell in from the snow

My old shed did that a few years back. Used to be able to walk under the front beam, after the snow, it hit me in the chin. Seems groundhog had undermined the front posts and it went straight over a foot. Lots of weight involved in snow.

On local TV here, some guy in Plymouth lost 2 antique cars when his shed roof collapsed.

In my neck of the woods we still have a few collapsed roofs from three years ago. We had wet snow, then rain and the roofs came crashing down. Hog confinements, cattle sheds, machine sheds, you name it, they all went down. The snow had no discrimination. I don't know why someone would leave an old roof collapsed for three years without either building up or tearing down but that's their business I guess. Jim

On the two farms I work at on the side, each one lost a barn. One was an older free stall with about 80 springers in it. Thankfully not a single animal was hurt. The other one had a dry cow pole shed collapse that they were now using for small calves after they expanded. All the calves made it out of that one too thankfully. Lots of cleanup fun.
