Whats A Good Price?

Hi all, I now have 2 1949 Farmall C's, and a Super C. A friend of mine that runs a tractor parts yard told me that he would sell me the complete Fast Hitch system for my Super C for $150. Does that sound like a good deal?

Before you answer that question, how hard would it be to convert a tractor without Fast Hitch? I personally haven't ever taken the time to really look one of those set ups over, but I would think that it should just bolt right up? Because I already had a loader on the tractor, I already have the special hydro piece that goes between the lines and the cylinder housing to run remotes. Do you guys think that I should buy it and stick it on, or leave that tractor as it is?

What are any of the Pros and Cons to have the FH? The only Con I can think of would be no longer having a drawbar, but isn't there a FH one that just "clicks" in?

Thanks, Bryce

ALSO, what is a good price for a FH disc, I am thinking 6 foot? He says it is all complete, just hook it in and go? Bryce

Bryce, $150 sounds like a great price. I asked at a tractor junk yard recently for extendable 3pt arms for my IH 574 and they told me $200 a piece, total of $400 so yes $150 is a great price if you ask me.

You had better buy that fast hitch fast. That is a real bargain. As for the fast hitch disk. I see real nice ones go for $500-700 and rough but complete ones will go for $200-350.

that is a great price for the fast hitch. is the drawbar included? even if not, still a great price. fh drawbars can usually be bought for around $100.
the only modification you will need to make is to cut a hole in both sides of the tool box, for the crank arm (for lack of a better term). everything else will bolt up. I used a torch to make the holes on the one I had, so it doesn"t need to be drill perfect. you probably need to get measurements from the donor tractor, unless you can get the tool box included. be aware that the serial # plate is riveted to the tool box, if you swap. you already have the valve, which simplifies the plumbing. with a fast hitch, you will need less functioning jacks on equipment, as you can pick the hitch on a trailer off the ground if necessary.
the fh disk- IF you can find one, it will likely cost $4-600 if its decent. and, you already found one.

very good price on the fasthitch
yes, they made a drawbar that snaps in.
For the drawbar and implements, measure the
prongs before buying.
different size fasthitch were made.
fast hitch seat boxes pop up on ebay often.
Course you'll have to be able to get yours off, which can be difficult sometimes.

I think that he will probably send the tool box with it. He is THE BEST guy I have ever dealt with for parts. He is one of these guys that tells you over the phone: well, it has a dent in it, so how about $40? Then you get it and scour that damn thing over for an hour and can't find the dent!

I absolutely adore the guy, I am going to buy it for sure. He even told me he would throw in a belt drive grain grinder for my dads engines, and that he would take the whole thing off of the tractor, load it in his truck and help get it to me.. I think it sounds like a good deal!

Thanks for the info guys, I really appreciate it! Bryce
