There is a pretty strong line of rain and heavy snow in Western Iowa. We are only supposed to get rain then light snow tonight.

It does not look that was right now.
 
The wind is picking up in intensity right now in Middle Tennessee. Supposed to be strong storms and very strong winds starting around 4:00 PM this afternoon.

Gonna' be a fun commute for folks who get off work around 5:00 PM.

Here in w.c. Ohio the forecast said it's suppose to go up to 50 degrees with up to 2" of rain. So far the temp.'s only gotten to 37. Earlier this morning it poured but glad to say the rain didn't last long. As I got soaked I wondered, if the government can forecast global warming why can't they also forecast what the weather will do that day?

Ah-hah, that's why it has not really arrived in MN yet then... still in your area.

We are supposed to get rain, into freezing rain, then into snow... they say to expect A LOT of it. Then winds in excess of 40 mph tonight - with gusts that could exceed 50 mph.

Hoping all commuters get safely home before the wind really picks up tonight.
 
We had thunder snow about an hour ago, the wind is picking up, but still at a tolerable level. 1 1/2 inches of the white stuff so far.

1 hour NW of Des Moines
 
In doing chores as fast as I can so I can hunker down.....

People don't even talk about the weather any more this winter do they, we just growl and grunt at each other, so sick of it with the late spring last year, the early and bitter cold winter so far, after this snow storm we are supposed to go below zero again.

I could not believe it either, when I saw the extended forecast... another week of extreme cold. Yes, it sure is getting darned old - cripes, everyone is sick of it.

My poor husband had to head in at 4 am today... nothing like working a twelve hour day - then driving home exhausted in a blizzard.
 
Heavy wind, rain and small hail came through, totally calm now, waiting for wind and snow later.
