ave you ever gone trough a electronic trouble shoot procedure as laid out in a automotive repair service manual to pin point a particular problem?(quoted from post at 10:53:49 02/20/14) I still cannot believe that the technicians cannot troubleshoot these things. They throw parts at them $1000s at a time.

Learn to DIY is the only way to go to keep financial damage within limits.
eah, what happened with on/off , AM/FM, dial in sound and dial in station...4 little buttons.??????(quoted from post at 12:09:26 02/20/14) Too many computer systems in vehicles today! Looked at an '13 Terrain last night. [b:5561240b8d]Took the salesman 20 minutes to explain how to operate the radio, screen after screen and menu after menu, then when he was done he showed us that it had voice command as well![/b:5561240b8d]
Call me old fashioned but I liked cars when you could understand them by looking at it and tracing the wires or hoses.
I do like the comfort features Ok and I can learn to operate most computer controller devices, I just find it way overkill that I need a touch screen and three alternate way (second push button, control on the steering column and voice command) just to tune in a radio station!
Uff Daa!!
sk my son,..he knows all about it!!.(quoted from post at 13:05:40 02/20/14) You have to take the cab off the frame to do any engine work.Imagine what that wiring harness will be like in a couple years.
(quoted from post at 08:57:36 02/20/14) It is in the manual, but still scares the CR@P out of me when the message comes on that says "check engine coolant additive" every 15K. This is for the anti cavitation additive.
(reply to post at 00:08:07 02I understand it's not always the mechs fault, my question is why make things so overly complex to control on things that don't need to be so overly complex? The radio, the heat and AC, the turn signals and lights, the brakes, window and lock controls. Makes no sense. I can see the emissions stuff, but the rest is just over engineered for the sake of over engineering IMO.
