Actually Jim, it's referred to as "The Blue Ohio" by Cairo, Illinois residents. Aerial views of the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi show the whole story. The Mississip gets muddy somewhere between your house and mine, ha!

The Missouri is the longest river in North America....longer than the Mississippi.

I have stood on the origin. It is long and includes the water from the Milk River. The milk is so silty that a quart of it contains an eighth of an inch of mud if left to sit for 2 days. Jim
