I believe Gomer got fired from the filling station and was staying at Andy's? I know town folks were bringing their cars over for diagnosis and repair.

Got fired because he was always telling too many fishin' stories instead of getting the work done and would continue telling stories and neglect customers setting there waiting for gas. They gave him warnings but didn't work. Andy got his job back because service station lost all his mech. customers to Gomer and Andy had complaints from all the neighbors abt the cars in drive.
