QUESTIONABLE TRACTOR OFFER

Has anyone heard of TINA WEBER, who is offering a 2004 John Deere 4410 for a very ridiculous price?
As advertised in Angieslist. Palisade, Nebraska.

I see these all the time on Craigslist. If she has a Gmail to respond to, it's probably hype.
They're normally placed with a lady's name, has very specific description and if you type her about it, her husband is overseas, needs the money, and it's in a city not near you. (or something similar.)
Good luck and let us know.

They are usually a scam. I have checked into them. They will tell you the item is at some shipping warehouse and that you pay for it an it is all secured with the shipping party.

They also will tell you that they own it as the result of a divorce, death, or deployment. They will always want some type of prepayment. Then you will be shipped the item.

I have seen them advertise a JD compact tractor with MFWD and loader for like $2500. Not even a fourth of what it would be worth.

I just about was took on a JD zero turn mower. It was in New Orleans. It was not under priced by much. The serial number checked out as being delivered to that area. I had a friend go check out the address. The man there had zero idea of any such deal. They had even photo shopped his house/yard with the zero turn in the yard. He showed my friend that he mowed with a Scag mower and had was the sole owner of the house since it was new. It was a diesel commercial JD zero turn with low hours. They are just about impossible to find used with low hours.

So the old adage of it being too good to be true is usually correct.

not heard of her specifically, but these sort of things are showing up here too, last one i saw was a bobcat with 44.5t hours, s300 model, for, wait for it........ $4000, my buddy sent her an email, just for kicks, yep, divorce, need the money yada yada yada... they even said they would ship it for free (from Toronto area to canadian prairies - 2-3 days by truck) and let him keep it to check it over for 5 more days...

I saw a deal similar a while back and it was in the next town over. I dropped by the address. They had no idea what I was asking about so I pulled it up on the internet posting. They called the number and acted very interested. When it got down to finishing the deal, they told the poster they were already at the address listed as it is their address, the police station. Conversation and posting ended quickly.

Actually went to a crazy horse lady's farm one time to look at a truck for sale. The price was extremely good, she didn't know much about it, but she was more than willing to hand me the title that was already signed on the back by her Ex-boyfriend. She said he gave her the truck. I told her I didn't feel right about it after some of the things she said. She was a bag of nuts wrapped loosely. Good for ex-boyfriend to get out of there.

I'm sure someone gave her the money for the truck. I didn't.

There are scams, and then there are things that are slightly around the bend. One is no better than the other.

We had one around us for awhile john deere 46xx 300 hours loader many attachments for $8000 Was listed in a town not 20 mins away

Decades ago, like 1970....I saw an ad in the MPLS Tribune for a late model Caddy.......extremely ridiculous low price. Some months later, the paper had the story behind it. Widow was selling hubby"s car.....his will said give the proceeds to his "secretary". Turned out the sec"y was his mistress, so widow complied with deceased hubby"s intentions!

yep,,,scammers always seems to use a female name, and usually reply to a g-mail address, no phone number, [ as others stated], in a storage unit, being held somewere else,, always seeing this b/s on c-list for cars, tractors, etc in my area also....and under $3k....ha ha ha ha ha ha haha

They are just trying to get your email address. I responded to one two years ago and a week later they had hacked my email and sent all kinds of ads to all of my contacts. We all need to report such things to the sites they are on. CL is easy to do. On CL you click on the ad and when it pops up the is a box that says prohibited just click on the box and it will put a X there. They told me it has to be done several times before it is removed. On YT photo ads at the bottom of the description it has two boxes and you click on report fraud. Type in your name and email. On classified click on the red star to the right. We as a group need to report these anytime we see them. Sorry for the long response. If you have any question post and I will try to explain better. Thanks and good luck.

you are right, three times on the x, go/look at another ad, then come back, three more times, repeat one more time, later poof it's gone, as for othere statment, c-list doesn't have enought staff to [police ads] to do much about it.. need to contact f-b-i if scammed...

after looking on y-t, went to my local c-list, farm-garden, what do you know, a 2004 j-d little tractor with loader, $2805,,, ha ha ha, jokes on scammer, i did what i posted to do, and guess what, it's gone ten minutes later....
