Case Grand Detour Plow

Hi there. I have this plow that has been sitting around for a while, and I am just now getting around to fixing it up. The shares have had an extension welded on to them, and I am not sure if they are useable or not, so I was wondering if anyone out the has any shares? It is a 2 x 14 plow. It has one very lager plow bolt to the left side of the share, and one smaller plow bolt to the right side. I attached a link of what I need for sale on E Bay, but they are WAY to much money.... Anyone have what I need? Bryce

Do the points on yours look any where near as good as the ones on there? They can be worn some and still work. Look for a kind of scotchbrite wheel for a 4 inch grinder. Norton makes a good one and Eastwood sells wheels for that purpose. These wheels take off rust and polish the metal with out sanding mark. Then plow about 100 acres of very dry soil. I have been painting my plows with gloss paint right on the whole bottom.

The extension welded on doesn't hurt anything. If the points look good I would keep them. The welded extensions keep the plow from "cutting and covering" which happens if the plow doesn't pull straight behind the tractor.

Sounds like a plan, I am going to a Tractor Club meeting in the morning, but I should be back around 2:00 (hopefully) I will take the backhoe up the meadow and pick up the plow on one side so I can look at the shares. What exactly am I looking for? A stamped what? Letters Numbers? The moldboards say something like DX14? I think! Thanks for the info! Bryce
